Under Construction
Ashtrom Construction, through its subsidiary Drachim, is currently constructing fast lanes along Ayalon Highways near Glilot Interchange. The project includes two bridges, each approximately 700 meters long and over 20 meters high, presenting unique engineering and logistical challenges due to their proximity to major traffic arteries, active railway lines, and a dense infrastructure area.
Construction of Two Road Bridges for Fast Lanes
At Glilot Junction, one of the central and busiest traffic intersections in the country, Ashtrom is building two bridges, one of which is to be 642 metres long and the other 738 metres - the longest road bridge in the country.
Construction of the two road bridges is part of the Ayalon Highways widening project, the bridges being designed to connect the congested lanes of Highway 20 to Highway 5 in both directions. On completion of the bridge construction Glilot East will become a three-level interchange substantially easing traffic in the area.
The project was executed by balanced casting using the Form Traveller Method, under which the bridge is built of uprights in a configuration that is balanced about the centre of the spans, until all sections of the bridge are joined forming a complete and uniform structure.
