Ashtrom Group, through the Ashtrom Engineering and Construction subsidiary, is behind the laying of the Ashdod-Palmahim section as part of the Highway 4 widening. The section was constructed for Netivei Israel , joining a long list of highways and main transport arteries constructed by the Company over several decades.
Widening of Highway 4 by Adding 3 New Lanes
As part of the widening of Highway 4 along the Palmahim-Ashdod Interchange section, Ashtrom Engineering and Construction laid 3 new traffic lanes in each direction; the section within which the works were carried out is 12 km. long.
The work process on the section entailed excavation and soil backfilling, paving and the performance of concrete works, including retaining walls and foundation piles. In addition, electrical, lighting and communications systems were installed on the site together with the performance of bridge reconstruction, drainage works and landscape restoration processes in cooperation with the local authorities.
