Mega-Project Incorporating Prefabricated Elements
The “Sdera” complex is a giant residential project completed in the Neve Ayalon neighbourhood of Or Yehuda, incorporating 3 different areas with 12 buildings and 528 housing units in a variety of sizes and to different specifications. The buildings are 7 or 14 storeys high and erected over a 2-level car park with an overall area of about 9,000 sq.m.
The construction process included erection of the frame together with a wide envelope made of industrialised elements produced at the Ashcrete plant and speedily and efficiently assembled on site. Raw materials were supplied by subsidiaries of Ashtrom Industries - high quality concrete by the Israbeton company, Ashkalit blocks, cement, plaster and paint products from BG Bond, and flooring works performed by the Zahavi Atzmon company. During all stages of construction Ashtrom paid attention to building safety, meticulous logistic planning and tight quality control.
