The Ashtrom Group, through its subsidiary Drachim, completed the construction of a 2.4 km long section of road 611, which also includes 4 road bridges and an underpass. The lane was laid for Netivei Israel (National Roads Company of Israel), joining a long list of highways and main traffic arteries the Company has been constructing for decades.

Construction of a Southern Access Road to the City of Harish

The section on Road 611 connects the Nerbata Junction on Road 574 to HaYankinton Square in the city of Harish, with the purpose of paving a southern approach to the city.

As part of the project, four road bridges, each approximately 6.5 meters high, were built. Additionally, a bicycle and pedestrian path covering about 2,400 square meters was constructed, along with an ecological underpass measuring 40 meters in length, 12 meters in width, and about 4.5 meters in height.

The project included the construction of four road bridges:

  • A Girder bridge measuring 27 meters in length and 36 meters in width, built over a stream and the access road to Kibbutz Manit;

  • A Girder bridge spanning 108 meters in length and 36 meters in width, constructed over Highway 6;

  • A Cast bridge 70 meters long and 36 meters wide, built over a stream;

  • A Cast bridge, also 70 meters long and 36 meters wide, built over a service road and a drainage channel.

The project involved excavation works totaling approximately 150,000 cubic meters of soil, filling operations amounting to around 380,000 cubic meters, and asphalt works totaling about 35,000 tons. Additionally, supporting walls covering a total area of approximately 15,000 square meters were constructed.

The road's passage through a forest necessitated close coordination with the National Infrastructures Committee, the Nature and Parks Authority, Kakal, the Drainage Authority, and local and regional authorities. Additionally, the section's proximity to Highway 6 and concurrent projects in the area required collaboration with Derech Eretz. For constructing the bridge over Highway 6, special traffic arrangements and execution coordination were made with the police, particularly for the transportation and assembly of the bridge beams.
